Elements of Pałuki costume and contemporary forms with Pałuki embroidery always have a very careful finish. The type of finish depends on the kind of fabric. Tulle bonnet bands are usually finished with semi-circular serrations. There are small holes embroidered on the edges of the serrations. The outer edge of holes is finished with a buttonhole stitch on the padding, and the inner edge with a blanket stitch on the padding. Sometimes the finish has only semi-circular serrations made with a buttonhole stitch.
All linen and cotton clothing items (ruffs, shirts and white petticoats) are finished with larger and smaller serrations, most often semi-circular with lots of holes.
Red petticoats and striped aprons have smaller or larger serrations, but there are no holes. Modern napkins are finished with serrations of various sizes but most often such work is finished using a crochet needle, with double crochets with picots.
